This site follows a personal journey to build a smarthome powered by Home Assistant, from first install through to more advanced automations and dashboards. The goal is to document what works, what breaks, and the lessons learned along the way so others can reuse ideas or avoid common pitfalls.

My background

This is not written by a Home Assistant expert, but by a technically literate tinkerer who is learning the platform in public. Professional experience comes from networking, homelab-style setups, and coding, not from being a full-time smart home integrator.
